A mother and her sister came to the clinic with this 9 months old lovely girl.
They said that there was something wrong with her. She is different than other children.
I said yes, she is sweeter and has softer hair than most children in this country.
I tried to explain Down syndrome. Not easy when you are not familiar with it like in our country.
I told them to have patience with her. She will develop her abilities but needs more time than others.
I showed them a picture of my daughter who has Down too. Still.....we can see the similarities more than they can. Even my nurses have difficulties seeing it.
