We had a very good stay in the Netherlands at my parents home.
I must say that being in a western country was overwhelming for me. People are so busy while using their phones. Paying bills with their smartwatch. Using a parking space and pay by phone. At the groceries they use a self-scanner to do your own shopping and to scan your stuff and pay at the same time.
Everything changed so much these last 8 years.
But I had a great time spending with my parents and seeing friends and family.
Today we are in the capital of Haiti. Tomorrow we will not go by bus but we will fly for safety reasons to Port de Paix. It's a rather small plane (a 5 seater) and we are thankful for M.A.F. and their service in this country.
We hebben een goede tijd achter de rug in Nederland. Het verblijf bij mijn ouders was ronduit geweldig. Naast bezigheden in en rondom huis hebben we ook genoten van het weerzien van vrienden en familie die langs kwamen.
Daarnaast heb ik me enorm verbaasd hoe de mensen zijn veranderd de laatste 8 jaar. Iedereen is zo druk. De telefoon houdt mensen flink bezig. Betalen met je smart watch. Zelfscannen in de supermarkt. Een parkeerplaats betalen met de telefoon.
Vandaag zijn we in de hoofdstad van Haiti. Morgen nemen we niet de bus maar vliegen we om veiligheidsredenen naar Port de Paix. Een klein vliegtuigje met 5 stoelen, maar we zijn dankbaar dat M.A.F. haar service verleent in een onstabiel land.
